For All Students and Families:

 

As you know, school buildings will be closed for the rest of the school year but learning at BGA will continue. Our current virtual learning system was a good start but we are increasing our support and expectations for the rest of the year. 

 

Starting Monday, May 4th, BGA will begin holding regular classes online at fixed times that all students are expected to attend. We believe this will help students get more support, keep their learning moving forward, and give some added structure to their days at home. 

 

Classes will mostly be held in the afternoons, with two classes being held per day. An example would be a student’s A and B block class meeting on Monday between 1 and 3pm, or C and D block on Tuesday. Teachers will also have Office Hours where students can ask additional questions and get support. The specific schedule will be shared with all families by the end of this week so you can plan ahead. 

 

All of this will happen online using Zoom.com, a video conferencing website that is free, safe and easy to use. To make sure all students and families are familiar and comfortable with this platform, we will be holding an orientation session to learn more about Zoom and how to use it appropriately. 

 

Please join us this Thursday, April 30, at 6:30pm for our orientation. You can login with an internet device, like a cell phone or a Chromebook, or by calling in with a phone line. Information on how to login is below and is also posted on the Boston Green Academy website, www.bostongreenacademy.org, and will be emailed to all families.
