Student Supports

At Boston Green Academy, we believe strongly in serving the social, emotional and physical well being of all students, in addition to their academic needs. We invest in a talented and robust Student Support Team so that our students can be served well both inside and outside our school with compassion, empathy, responsibility and integrity.


The Boston Green Academy Student Support Team (SST) aims to provide an umbrella of support services to the school community. In general, the team supports the social, emotional and physical well being of our students, parents and staff. The Team consists of two divisions, the Office of Counseling and Wellness and the Office of Support and Intervention.


The Office of Counseling and Wellness consists of the school social workers, guidance counselors, counseling interns and school nurse. Team unit includes: Brian Gonsalves, LICSW Director of Student Support, Vanessa Brea, Middle School Guidance Counselor, Jodi Then, High School Guidance Counselor, Mary Heney, LMHC, Special Education, Social Worker, Lauren Kelton, LICSW High School Social Worker, and Marta Bausmer, School Nurse.


The Office of Support and Intervention consists of the Assistant Headmaster and the Community Field Coordinators who monitor school culture and discipline. Team unit includes: Jeff Becker, Assistant Headmaster, Reginald Loving, CFC High School, Jaqueline Sims, CFC High School, Briea McDaniels, CFC Middle School, Winston Bennett, CFC Middle School. To support school culture the Student Support Team incorporates Restorative Justice approaches and other Social Emotional Learning models.


The Student Support Team also partners with Arbour Counseling services, Doc Wayne Sports Therapy program, West End Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Massachusetts Mentor 2.0 program, and others an takes the lead with educating our teaching staff about trauma-informed practices.
